Even though I could see myself in all those occupations, Marie Antoinette got her head cut off, and being a peasant wife and serving wench would mean a life of endless drudgery; your old pal Jean is too much of a free spirit for that! Being a merry minstrel would be the 1700's version of what I do now in my column: Entertaining people and making them laugh. (Actually, in my original column, I imagined myself a minstrel, but then it got revealed that I was actually the daughter of a wealthy prince with a gorgeous castle and estate, and when he died I inherited everything and got to retire. Plus I was a lot skinnier.)
